2009 Gulliver Travel Grant Delay
The SLF recently lost one of our grant judges, so we are behind on
reading the applications this year. We’re very sorry about the delay -
everyone here knows how hard it is to await news on a grant application.
Our new deadline for announcing the winner is mid-November.

Gulliver Travel Grant deadline is fast approaching
Last week we had five applications total, but this week the applications are starting to pick up. The dealine is Sept 30. Apply now!
SLF Grant Winner gets book contract
Karen Simpson, the last winner of the Older Writers’ Grant, wrote to say that her novel was picked up by a publisher. In her words:
“…the grant added to my platform and was one of the reasons Act of Grace was picked up by an independent press called Plenary Publishing. Feb 2011 it should be hitting the bookstores. They intend on giving it a huge push in the marketplace. So Thank you and SLF so much for your effort.”

The Older Writers’ Grant administrator reports that we have received 48 applications to date, with submissions coming in at about a rate of 5 per day now. The deadline is March 31 - less than a week to go!
