Rich Horton's Market Summaries:

Summary: Cthulhu Sex, 2005

Cthulhu Sex is a well put together horror magazine. Besides fiction it features a lot of poetry and a great deal of artwork. It delivers very much what the title advertises: horror fiction with a Lovecraftian angle and lots of (mostly grotesque) sex. It is only fair that I say that I find that particular combination uninteresting, and in particular the sort of sex featured in many of these stories rather turns me off. Which is simply to say that I am not apparently the audience the magazine is trying to reach -- I imagine it works a lot better for those it's aimed for. I can say that I found the writing quality of the stories a fairly even mix between pretty good and pretty bad.

I saw two 2005 issues, numbers 21 and 22. These two issues included 19 stories (one novelette, 2 short-shorts) for a total of around 62,000 words of fiction.

Among the stories I thought fairly decent: "Virgin Sand Goddess", by Nancy Jackson; "Pack Rat", by John Bruni; and "Darby's Dilemma", by C. J. Henderson.
